Good Morning! Be encouraged today, focus on your inner beauty!
“Don't be concerned with the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.” ~ 1 Peter 3:3-4
Being beautiful on the outside doesn’t make you beautiful on the inside. Many people have a perfect appearance, but what’s going on the inside is quite different. People spend hours going to gyms, hairdressers, doing make-up, clothes shopping and working on their outward appearance. What really matters is what’s going on inside. We all need to work harder on our inner beauty, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which God loves.
Morning Prayer: Lord God, help us to recognize what is eternal and is temporary. I pray that our hope would be renewed, that we would stop trying to grasp perfection for a vessel that is weak and dying. Help us to fully grasp the truth that You created created each one of us to look a certain way. You didn't accidentally create any part of us. Help us to see our bodies as you do, wonderful and marvelous. Help us to accept that you created each one of us uniquely and with a purpose. We pray that we would be good stewards of the temples you have given us and that our hearts would remain focused on heaven. May our flaws and scars not defeat us, but rather, let us celebrate the disabilities, the flaws, the beauty, and the imperfections in Jesus’ name. Amen.
