Good Morning! Be encouraged today, guard your heart from the spirit of offense.
Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. ~ Luke 17:3-4
The enemy most deceptive tactics is something all Christians have encountered: offense. Where does offense come from? It comes from Satan. A spirit of offense has but one purpose: to destroy you. The spirit of offense is a deadly weapon as it can produce much fruit like anger, outrage, jealousy, resentment, strife, bitterness, which kills relationships. DO NOT give in to the spirit of offense, but guard your heart, guard your mind and keep your spirit devoted to the Father. When offense comes knocking, and it will, please walk out what the Bible declares: FORGIVE AND WALK IN LOVE.
Morning Prayer: Father God, thank you for your love that strengthens and uplifts us day by day. Praying that we are healed and delivered from the spirit of offense. Lord God, help us to continue to guard our hearts against the temptation to become offended and harbor grudges and other negative emotions. Instead of always seeing the faults of the offender help us to search our own hearts to show us those areas where we have been harboring offenses and blaming others for our own shortcomings. We release all things unto You for we know that only You through the power of the Holy Ghost can heal and deliver us from past hurts and offenses. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
